Ellen is EXC-ELLEN-T
Here at Wedding-Car we like to restore rare Vintage and
Classic cars to a very high standard, then offer them to Brides and Grooms for
their big day ….. Our latest acquisition ‘Ellen’ is no exception.
‘Ellen’ is our new (well
new to us) Vintage Car….. She is a 1932 Citroen C4G ‘Big Twelve’ and like our
other vintage cars (her elder sisters) she was built at the Citroen works in Slough, she is just 4 years younger than
our others but still an impressive 81 years old.
We have owned ‘Ellen’ since November 2012 and from then
until now we have carried out some light restoration work to include her beautiful
new paintwork, beautiful new leather re-trim and some mechanical work to bring
her up to our consistent high standard.
Whenever we complete a restoration we road-test the vehicle
to excess, so that we get to know the handling characteristics of the car and
to highlight any areas that need further attention, to make sure the car is perfect
for a wedding day – So like the other cars it was Ellen’s chance to impress us
today.
Our new restoration road test is over 100 miles in a day, so
today we took Ellen to Windsor in Berkshire to visit relatives – we took the
long route from Newton Longville through Stewkley, Aston Abbotts, Wingrave,
Aston Clinton and Wendover, then a brief stop off in Beaconsfield for a cup of coffee, then on to Windsor (through
the floods) via Cookham and Maidenhead.
We decided to visit Windsor Castle before heading home
and the tourists loved the car too
We enjoyed our family day out with Ellen and have
established that she is ready for her first wedding with Wedding-Car and will
be added to our website in the next few days.
Unfortunately we are unable to attend the upcoming Milton Keynes Wedding Show but we will be supporting the Heart FM Wedding Fair at Horwood House on the 17th February 2013 and the weekend after on the 24th February 2013 we are at the Holiday Inn & Debenhams Wedding fair in central Milton Keynes.
